Taisol CGK742092, its very good and inexpensive. Try Nerdsbyte.com, you can also choose to upgrade the low profile Delta fan with 3 or 4 alternatives if you can stand the noise, they even have the bad mama Delta 37cfm.

I just bought an Alpha PAL6035, and it has my Duron 800@950 running in the neighborhood of 35 C at all times. It's a nice, quiet fan, too.

I just bought the FOP32-1 from nerdsbyte.com, the TaiSol is a great heatsink, but it wont fit without some modifications with a hacksaw.

I thought the Taisol heatsink doesn't fit the K7T Pro2-A board. I know I've seen many people say that in these forums so you better double check before you buy one. If it doesn't fit, go for the Alpha PAL6035.

Edit: SolTek just verified what i was saying.

I'd say go with the Alpha PAL6035 if you can.. If not, go for the Taisol.

I got the Taisol 742 and Pro2A yesterday and the heatsink hits toriod(copper wound thing) on the top right corner. I just broke the upper right fin off the heatsink and hacksawed the corner(just a little) off then took a file to smooth it out. It fits fine now without hitting, I'm gonna shave it down a hair more today just to be safe, then I'm gonna lap the bottom cause it could be smoother. It only took about 10 mins. to get it to fit and I think its worth it for such a good and quiet cooler. I dont have my CPU yet but I doubt altering it will make any difference, cooling wise. Plus its cool to be able to say that you modded your heatsink!!!

I had to perform similar surgery with my Taisol 742, but I used a large file to grind away what I didn't need.

I need to make a decision on a cpu cooling device for a Duron 600 or 650 on a MSI K7TPro2-A. I've checked overclockers.com and I really don't want to go so exotic as customized cases with portals on the top and side if I can avoid it.

Simply put, can I overclock a Duron 600 to maybe 900 with just a simple device like the Alpha PAL6035 and stop there? I just want a cooling device that works and isn't loud and end the search.

Also, if later I want to upgrade the cpu, can I remove the device and reuse it on the new cpu?

Furthermore, when I phone some of these online pc hardware outlets can I ask for a blue Duron. How can I maximize my chance to get a Duron that's not locked or a bad vintage?

Lastly, please recommend a good case for this setup; probably 1 harddrive, a cdrom or dvd. I'll probably use any cd writer I buy in my current, older system.

On a personal note, I really respect how so many of you are giving of your time to help others. Happy holidays to you all!
