Recommendations for anti-glare filter?

I've been looking for a Anti-glare, anti-radiation, anti-static screens but I'm confused as to which one to get. There are so many! I'm leaning towards 3M, but I'm open to any other companies. I have a 19" monitor. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any input. 🙂

I've never seen those anti-glare things eliminate all glare. They're also somewhat cumbersome in my opinion.
It would probably be easier and cheaper to change the angle at which the lights hit the screen or just move the monitor.

Flourescent bulbs, by the way, are notorious for hideous glare.

I'm using 3M AF200XXL as we speak, and although this filter is a bit pricey, while eliminating the glare from the window, this filter definitely saves me a lot of headaches as well from looking at the monitor all day.

I was looking at that filter over on Mwave, and it is pricey (at more than $100). Thanks for your comments guys. My eyesight has been getting worse, and I'm thinking that it's the monitor because I sit in front of the computer all day. Am I right to think that a filter will help out?.

As for your comment tcrosson I don't have any flourescent lights in my room, but I do know what you mean because I see that at work. 🙂

Let me put it to you this way. You can certainly save money on the monitor and the filter, but will you be able to use saved dollars to get your vision back? I really don't think so.

When it comes to health, money shouldn't be an issue, since eye vision can never be replaced no matter how much money you save now. Think about that...

Thanks for your comments andrey. I know that money cannot replace my vision, and that's what I've been thinking all this time. I just wanted some opinions on if the filters do improve the glare so that your vision doesn't go so quickly. I've never used one of these so I have nothing to work on. I'm definitely putting in an order for a filter...just wanted some suggestions on which ones were good. 🙂

I understand and I had to go through the same decision process. The first filter which I got was only anti-glare, and while it made colors much crispier on the screen, I still was getting tired after sitting in front on my computer for the full working day. Getting anti-glare and anti-radiation made a big difference and $100 which I spent paid me in a long run.

I wear contact lenses and normally I would have to get a different prescription each year. I'm not exactly if its a filter or upgrading my home monitor to LCD (Planar 19") or maybe even something else, but I stayed with the same prescription for over 2 years now. The reason I say filter makes a difference is that I absolutely don't feel tired after work any more, while at the same time if I have to work at some other office where they obviously don't have a filter, I definitely can tell I was working in front of the computer for a few hours.

My suggestion to you is to get one of this filter at either BestBuy or CompUSA and if you don't feel there is a difference, you can always return them with 100% refund. Just my opinion.
