Recommendations for a Minecraft capable pc

I want to build (barebones or from scratch), a PC for my granddaughter so she can play minecraft. Currently she uses my Alienware M17, when she visits, but I cannot afford another M17.
Any help would be appreciated.

Minecraft seems to work fine on my daughters Ivybridge Celeron, believe it is a G 1830. Using on board with a 1080p screen.

Does she use a lot of mods? Minecraft PC's don't need much...unless she goes bonker with mods. Then RAM and VRAM becomes more of an issue. Also, what resolution will she be playing at?

If saving money is an issue, I'd suggest a desktop. Something like this: http://www.ibuypower.com/Store/Intel-mATX-Configurator

Build it yourself is probably the best way to save money. After that I'd look for one of the more value-oriented boutique builders rather than a mass-market. Less crapware. Less corners cut. I haven't used a boutique builder in forever, so I don't know what the best ones are now.

Thanks for the quick response. She does not have a bunch of mods, yet. On my laptop, I just have the starter minecraft that comes from their website when you first sign up.

what is your budget? you can assemble a full skylake pc with about $700. (not including monitor)

An Intel i3-6100 and its built in graphics are more than enough for vanilla minecraft and plenty speedy for general use too. You could build a tiny desktop around that CPU, mATX board, 2x4GB of faster speed DDR4 and a small case with power supply, like the InWin series. Only around $300US
