Recommendations for a 17" Flat CRT?

I'm looking for a good flat 17" crt monitor that I will be using for a dorm room in college. Unless I can find a good 15" lcd for under $250, I much rather pay less and get more 'real estate' for my money with a CRT.

The 17" monitor should meet the following requirements:
1. flat crt
2. must be able to display 1024x768 at 85hz, 1152x870 at 75hz or better (this is my favorite resolution setting), and 1280x1024 around 75hz...1600x1200 is cool, but not a necessity
3. Has to be good with text (writing papers, internet browsing)
4. Should be good for video, dvd, tv, imaging (it is quite possible that my computer will be used as a dvd player and a tv)
5. Short/small neck is preferred for space reasons, but this takes a back seat to image quality and price.
I like high contrast and dark black color reproduction.

Needless to say, it should be pretty versatile.

I am looking to spend around $150-$200 or less (rebates and coupons should help me achieve this)....

There are so many 17" monitors out there that I don't know where to start.
I've seen the HP mx75 in stores before... It looks nice, but its refresh rates don't seem to be that good for higher resolutions.
The Compaq FS7550 seems to be a good performer on paper, but I haven't heard much about this monitor. It sells for $350 online....using a Price Match, coupon and the compaq $150 rebate, I can probably get it for around $150.
The other line of monitors that seem to be very sweet, but more expensive are the Mitsubishi Diamatron (spelling?) monitors. I saw a lower end one @ BestBuy for $175 after rebate. I also saw this monitor at Dell for $211. Expensive, but seems to exceed all my requirements.

What are your suggestions?

For 17 inch, you should not pay more than $150. My friend had got a Sony G200 ( I think thats the model 17 inch flat screen) for abut $100 on ebay. The shipping was something like $35 but the seller was local so he picked up..Anyway I think that is one of the best 17inch monitor around. Search on ebay.

The Hitachi CM625 passes your requirements with flying colors, except it might be a little too expensive if bought retail. If you're not afraid of 'refurbished,' you can get it here for $129 (less shipping).

Refresh rates from Hitachi:

Resolution/Maximum refresh
640 x 480 - 160 Hz
800 x 600 - 140 Hz
1024 x 768 - 115 Hz
1152 x 870 - 100Hz
1280 x 1024 - 85 Hz
1600 x 1200 - 75 Hz

Hitachi makes some of my favorite screens.
