Recommendation of a negative scanner

can any one suggest the best negative scanner available in the market

I occasionally use a Nikon Coolscan, I have never had trouble with it. Don't know about absolute best though.

I have the Canon MP970, I believe it does do negative scans. I picked it up at Amazon for $253 with a $100 MIB, cant beat $153!

Of course its a printer combo.

I have and epson 4180 that I use for scanning negatives. It's been fantastic for that job and it was cheap. The currenhttp://forums.anandtech.com/me...E=1&parentid=28396560t version is the Epson Perfection 4490 which can be had directly through epson.com for $149.

Canon CanoScan 4200 can scan film negative and the scanned picture look fanatic!! It costs me less than 50 bucks 3 years ago.
