If you're still looking, can you clarify what you'll be doing with it (besides calculations)? Video editing? Programming? Gaming? How much are you willing to spend, and what screen size would you prefer?

To me, the sweet spots are either Apple's 15-inch MacBook Pro or Dell's XPS 15. Which you choose depends largely on how much you can afford and whether or not the apps you need have Mac versions.

I would actually look at the MSI Gaming GT series of notebooks. They are rock solid top end machines (I have two). Look at the GT72S Dominator G (6th Gen) (GTX 970M). It's got a top end mobile CPU and really good graphics.
