Recommendation for DVD drive around $100

I was wondering what experiences people have had with DVD drives in this price range. I will be watching movies on it and using it as my primary optical drive. I won't need to have a decoder board because my uncle can hook me up. Please give any recommendations you can! Black drive color would be cool too.

Toshiba makes excelent cdrom/dvd drives..excellent choice..I just got a liteon 16x dvd..ltd163..very nice drive...and it is inexpensive

I got the lite-on 16x from dell business with free shipping and a 10% discount. All totaled was like $46! I couldn't be happier with it. DVD performance is great and it has one of the fastest DAE (digital audio extraction- for ripping cd's) speeds of anything out there... check the "hot deals" forum for links to Dell and reviews...etc...cheers.

In my experence the Pioneer 116 and 106S are the best you can get. The pioneer 500M is ATA100, but I haven't had a chance to use it yet.

I have an Aopen (6x) that I got about 2 years ago, I think it is a pioneer with diff name, but it has worked flawlessly.
