I am looking for an ODB II Code reader for my car (CEL) Check Engine Light. Something less than $100. I have consider Actron CP9125. I know Autozone will rent out the ODB Reader for free, but I would like to have on in my car.

It's handy to have a car where I can just turn the key back and forth three times and have it spit out a code.

V00DOO let me know if you find one, i actually could use one for my VW.

turns out my engine code was previously on because the TB needed cleaning. since my mechanic could not find the meaning of the real VW code (only the generic code) he couldn't narrow down the problem and told me he would have to try 5 different things (according to the generic code). however I took the VW code to the vwvortex forums and found out it was the TB that needs cleaning and it should clear it all up.

and to think my car was almost dead ... :D

Do you have a MKIII or MKIV? My roomate has VAG-COM (Ross-Tech) for his MKIV 1.8T and I believe it was under 400 bucks.

I have a code reader but I'm not sure it works for all cars. I used to use it on my Ford. I should probably sell it since I don't need it anymore.
