i love in-ear headphones because they block out noise, especially at the gym! my third pair of sony mdr ex51 is breaking down. its the same problem as before...one side works fine, no audio out from the other side.
i just bought a pair from Phillips. they are awful. physcially bigger with very little bass, sounds awful.

please recommend me a nice and reliable one!
i dont want to buy an expensive Shure because i know i'll loose it someday.

I'm a big fan of the Bose Triport IE phones. I paid $100 for them about a year ago.

Please don't get Bose. Bose has earned a BAD reputation among those who actually care about sound quality. The Bose IEMs are no exception; the quality is not worth the price you pay. If you can get Triport IEs for $40, that's another matter...

But anyway...

Here's a few suggestions...
-Creative EP630 - around $30
-Sennheiser CX300 - not sure of price, maybe $60...?
These two headphones supposedly have the same drivers, so they should sound the same. Unless you're some kind of huge Sennheiser fanboy (which I gather you're not), the Creatives should do fine.
-Shure E2C - $no idea
as makoto mentioned, these can get really cheap if you get a good deal. They may not sound as nice as other IEMs, but they are still TRUE IEMs (as opposed to the above two), and would be a lot cheaper.
-Ultimate Ears Metro.fi 2 - $64.xx
I haven't really read much about these, but they should sound as good as the E2Cs. You might want to check Head-Fi reviews before picking them up, though.

I've had the Sennheiser CX300b for about 2 years now and they are still going strong. I use them mainly when I'm riding my motorcycle so I can block out the wind and some exhaust noise. Amazon list them for 46.87 and they are worth it to me.
I tried some V-moda Bass Freq that were going for 20 bux and they dont compare to the 300's in terms of fit and sound quality.
My .02 cents.

Actually, the Bose IEs are well worth the money. They are comfortable, loud, crisp, and have great sound reproduction. I always detested Bose, till I read a bit about the Triports on headfi and had a listen for myself. I think they sound better than the E2Cs. I've been a musician my whole life, so sound quality is important to me, as well as being able to wear the phones for hours on end doing everything.
