For my birthday my wife let me replace my old computer and for Christmas she said I can replace my monitor. I currently have a 22" 8ms monitor, I want at least a 24inch and 2ms since I use my computer primarily for gaming. Empire total war, dragon age, fallout 3, mass effect, dawn of war 2, etc. I was considering the below monitors, the first one is sold out but seems like a nice one. I don't mind waiting that long.

Today is your lucky day . There is a guy in the forsale /trade forum who is selling that exact Asus 25.5 inch monitor. The first one you listed.
Brand new in the box for 265$ shipped.
I was thinking of grabbing one . He has 3 of them.

Edit : different model numbers but the specs seem the same.

Thanks for that find, it does have the same specs and looks to be a good monitor, I'll check out some reviews of it to see how good a monitor it is, thanks again

Specifications indicate Asus you linked is a TN panel... (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

no your right, My mistake.

According to the reviews I've read its a very good lcd.

265$ for a big 26 inch lcd is not bad at all.

I can vouch for the last one in your last, the LG W2486L had it for a couple weeks now, I play most of the same games you do and it is a great monitor for those games. It's a little clunky to put the stand together, but after that its fine.

If you want power saving/energy saving it's great too, my kill-a-watt says its drawing about 25 watts at the wall.

No adjustable stand though. Otherwise I love it.

Certainly some will disagree, but 1920x1200 seems to be getting up there in pixel pitch on a 26" monitor unless by having the larger size you choose to enjoy a larger viewing distance.

Avoid the 1920x1080 panels unless you watch movies or game with consoles, since you are coming from a 1680x1050 which is nearly the same vertical res. Although you will get a wider periphery, images, objects on screen will be about the same size. So you will not see much of a difference coming from your old screen.
