Recommend storage HDD

Recently I have wierd problems with my hard drives - I have 5 in my system and 2 500 GB WDs just do not wanna play nice with the whole setup. I get controller errors, lost sectors -worrysome stuff . So I want get 2 drives for software RAID setup (software so I am not hostage of mb controller)

I was sticking to WD so far but their latest drives seem to get bad review on newegg. Any other options?

I'm going to tiptoe around my drives from here on...

I've been used WD so far, black and green. Both of them don't give me any problem.
For desktop computer, Barracuda is performing well too.
