hey guys i have a Asus® A7N8X-E Deluxe with onboard sound and i want to know what kind of speakers can i use with soundstorm onboard card. thanks

I've got an A7N8X Deluxe rev. 1.04 with soundstorm and use Logitech Z-640 5.1 speakers with it. Works fine, though if I turn the volume up on the speakers I can hear computer blips and beeps. Might be due to the age of my mobo. Anyway, the Z-640 speakers are a good sounding 5.1 setup and inexpensive at around $60.

I'm using the Z640's on my A7N8X-E, so I'm assuming that is using the realtek components....and I think they should pretty dang good. I'm no audiophile by any means, and I just use the sound for gaming and a little music. For the price I have no complaints at all.

Z-640's can be had for under $50 shipped. Check slickdeals.net. I picked up a pair and they rock. You will not find a better set under $125.

Question/s- What are looking for? Do you want powerful speakers? DO you mind have 5-6 speakers spread out around your computer?

I have a ASUS KV8 Deluxe with onboard sound and run the Logitech Z-2200's. I think Logitech Z-2200's are one of the best 2.1 systems going, and they hammer. But I didnt want a bunch of speakers lying around. If you can handle all the speakers, the Logitech Z-680's and Klipsh Pro Medias are awesome speakers. From reviews most say the new top-of-the-line c Creative Labs speakers (Forget what they are called), are teh best speakers on teh market for PCs.

So it comes down to yoru wallet size, and space.

Just like the Infiniti G35 is a BMW M3 killer.... Just because somethings a good value doesn't mean it's better than the best. 😛

And just because you spend more doesn't mean you get a better product.

I have the Creative Gigaworks 7.1 system, they're phenomenal. I haven't heard pro-medias or the z680s for a first-hand comparison, and I'm sure they're excellent speakers as well. I got what I have because I wanted a 7.1 system. I'm very, very pleased with them.

ps. many reviews of the 680s on Newegg complain of a hissing noise. I steered away from them because of those reviews.
