I'm sick of all of the "public friendly", "made for everybody" mainstream movies. They bore me.

I'm looking for movies that are a bit dark and surprising. I'll give you an example- I thought Fight Club was excellent. I remember that they didn't even market what the movie was really about, it was a surprise.

Are there any more movies like that?

If you are into really fvcked up foreign movies, Ichi the Killer, Oldboy, and Battle Royale are great. Ultra-violent, and over the top, I can't get enough.
 
Seconded for "Ichi the Killer"

I liked Kung Fu Hustle a lot, definately a strange movie with some neat visual effects. Dead Man is also a good one, a much dirtier portrayal of the wild west than you're used to seeing in film.
