Since there seem to be few Scotch recommendations:

First, run away from Johnny Walker (sorry Feldenak)

Go for single malts:
Highland Park - great highlands scotch, my fav
Oban - also good, also pricey
Dalwhinnie 15 yr - stronger flavor, top notch but top price
Laphroaig - very strong flavor (darker and smoky, not for everyone)
Isle of Jura - less expensive, more mild, but still good
Glenfiddich - easiest to find and solid

Hehe, no prob. I don't personally drink scotch so I was only going by references from a friend of mine...he loves Johnny Walker when making his Rusty Nail.

This is the closest one that I agree w/ - alot of the other stuff is easily lower shelf Safeway acquirable.

Vodka - Grey Goose/Belvedere - although I've also had some "Van Gogh" which is damn good in a martini.
Tequila - it has to be Petron' Silver
Rum - Capt. Morgan's Private Stock

Mind you - this is not everyday stuff - you usually get it when you either 1) have a friend that happens to be a bartender 2) a special occassion, ie friend's b-day 3) you have money coming out of your ass like diarhea.

And yeah - I also don't like Scotch.
