Oh, stop it. He said dope. DEAL.

You crackers say "awesome" or speak in your nerd speak all the time!!!!11111!!!! <---see, that shit is far worse than the word dope

You call white people crackers, but if I were to call you a ***** I'd probably get banned (just saying it here will probably get me banned). Double standard on top of another double standard (black people calling eachother ***** is somehow acceptable).

You may like that song, but this is apparently a thread about "dope" rock music. Does that guy EVEN LOOK like a rock musician? Does that song rock? Do you know what rock even means?

That whiny emo alternacrap shit is not, never has been, and never will be "rock", dope or otherwise.

It's not emo. Death Cab is purely american indie rock. Nothing to do with punk. Nothing to do with hardcore.

FYI, You illiterate wanna be snobs - emo does not just mean that the song has an emotional under current. Bob Dylan is not emo, Bruce Springstein is not emo, Sarah McLachlan is not emo.

I'm in a thread listing indie rock and alternative bands. I'm more of a cracker than you are! In fact, I'm drinking PBR and smoking marlboros while wearing pumas and watching seinfeld - guilty as charged!

I don't tend to like or respect rock music that doesn't have a point of some kind....

That said: Rise Against, Propagandhi, NoFX, Rage (against the machine), are all hard (maybe too hard for your taste, I dunno), and all quality as far as I'm concerned.

Rage and Propagandhi are debatable, NoFX not so much, but Rise Against is amazing, and anyone who doubts that is WRONG WRONG WRONG. (Just kidding)

Here are a couple music videos, since you asked so nicely!

The most palatable for most people:

This one is a little disturbing (animal cruelty):

HIPPIE AGENDA WARNING LOL!:

They're my favorite, FYI. 😛

I thought he was dot Indian. Cracker is a term used by black people against whites because they were jealous of n*****. Personally I don't think it worked, I don't find it offensive in the least.

Neither do I, I laugh.

The sentiment is still there, though. They just don't have a neat little word to wrap their bigotry up in, like white bigots do.

Personally, anyone who uses either word (in a serious fashion, I say cracker as a joke) looses all respect in my eyes.

No one is recommending Tool? Damn.
Tool's music isn't necessarily the most easily palatable type of rock music. It can demand more involvement from its listeners than many people are accustomed to giving to their musical experience, IMHO.

Please understand that this isn't a condemnation of Tool's music. Tool is probably my favorite single band, overall. I'm a huge Tool fan. You should make an effort to listen to their music, IMO. The point is that people will probably introduce you to music that is a bit easier to get in to quickly, given that the rock genre isn't already your favorite, let alone hard rock or prog rock.

I saw you mentioned you liked a Led Zep song or two earlier. Here's Tool covering the Led Zep song "No Quarter." Note that the performance is almost 11 minutes long. My suggestion to you is to get some actual dope, use a bit of it, put some headphones on, and commit to listening to the whole thing.

Oh, stop being pretentious. Tool is not Aphex Twin, Cocorosie, or sigur rus. They're an american rock band with peaks into studio experimentation. It's very entertaining, Aenima and Undertow are albums I love (and they're later work is good). But let's not get silly, imlpying that a major label, top-40 artist is just so underground and musically obtuse.

I'm not. Nothing I've said is false -- but it seems you're not a reliable interpreter of things that I have said.

Tool is not Aphex Twin, Cocorosie, or sigur rus.
Is English your first language? Somehow it seems you think I've said something that I did not. That is the only thing I can surmise, given that your statements could only rebut claims which I haven't made.

I encourage you to continue practicing your English. Perhaps in the future you wouldn't embarrassingly misinterpret other people like obviously you have here.

My whole point is that if people use words like cracker and ***** to insult each other, or even in jest, but when someone else uses the same words, it's suddenly a problem. It's hypocritical to even utter the word at someone, especially if you don't mean it.
