Recommend Print Server!

* Parallel compatible

* Price unimportant

Ive had a search about but carnt find anything to these specifications. Any pointers would be appreciated

The HP Jet Direct would probably be a good reliable one... not real fond of dlink and linksys SOHO junk.

I agree. Nothing but good luck with JetDirect boxes. I've only used the 802.11b USB JetDirect box though, the Parallel one is very different as it uses a PCMCIA card.

Hi all thx for your replies,

the printer is a HP LaserJet 1200 series.

I think i do need something with encryption, even 64bit, otherwise my Netgear wg614 (which at present uses 128bit) wont be able to recognize it right?

The 1200 series has USB as well as parallel connectivity. Also, the 1200n comes with a wired JetDirect printserver. If you go with the 1200n, I'd just get one of these to connect to the JetDirect and get it on your wireless network. Otherwise, if it's just a 1200 or 1220, I'd get one of these since the printer actually does have a USB connection.

Omg?! It has USB lol All this time i never knew. Well when i get home im gonna have a look at that printer and find that cheeky usb port!

Thx alot for that advice, i may just go for that product
