Recommend me some watercooling... Lian Li v1200b Plus on it's way.

Here's my system specs...

DFI Ultra-D
Opteron 165 @ 2.6Ghz
x850xt PE
Audigy 2 ZS Platinum
Modstream 450w
OCZ 512x2 2-2-2-5 @ 3.1v

I've never watercooled before, but now that I have a bigger, deeper case, I think that I'm ready to make the move. I think I'd like cooling for the CPU, northbridge, and the GPU as well. (that ATI fan gets out of control). I know a lot of you are experienced with this and I like how a lot of the worklogs turned out. I want your advice as far as everything goes... (what to buy, installation, etc...). I guess more just what to buy as there are a lot of guides out there, but if you have any special tips, please leave them.

I really like the look of the aquacomputer stuff (especially the res that has the window in the front bays). Also, I like the LCDs that show temp, speed, etc...

I have a MAX of $200... that's to get it going... maybe later.

Koolance makes nice kits that work with our case. Check out Performance-PCs.com, and there's a guy with pics on Anandtech of a Koolance in a V1000 I think.

i agree, 200 is a bit low for a premium water cooling setup. maybe a maze 4 setup will be in your price range. check out danger den for some prices.

As these guys say, You won't reasonably be able to buy 3 blocks and all your equipment for under $200. When I started buying watercooling parts, I didn't have much money either. I opted to just buy one piece or so at a time until I had everything so I could get the good stuff. I also modded a heatercore for around $30 instead of buying a dual radiator for $100 or whatever.

Maze4 is not top of the line, and neither is that pump, but it's probably good enough for a beginner, especially if you aren't trying to break any overclocking records. Ultimately however it will be a waste of money as you will start wanting to replace it with better stuff anyway. Why you want to watercool will dictate which route you go. The only benefit you will get out of cooling your stock system with watercooling is noise reduction. If your pc has issues with aircooling, you are doing something wrong. Watercooling doesn't begin to putpace aircooling until you overclock. If you just want a quieter PC, you could probably buy a kit.

But if you want to crank out an extra few hundred mhz out of your PC, you'll want a top of the line pump as well as waterblocks.

Yeah. I got a good 1 block system for a little over 200. And I would skimp on the block before the pump, always.
