I searched through some threads, got some recommendations, but a lot of them seem to be more expensive here in California. For example the beers I usually drink now:

Sierra Nevada, Redhook and Sam Adams: $11 for a 12 pack

I'm looking for some alternatives in the same price range as I'm paying now. :)

Molson Canadian is almost always under $10/12 here for bottles.

I can't drink more than that in one sitting though, after the 10th or 11th one, it just starts to taste bad.

jeez you guys, he said 'semi-cheap' not ASS beer.

I agree wholeheartedly!

Nonetheless, of the cheap cheap cheap beers that most people don't drink, I always thought that Black Label was pretty good. But, it depends on where it gets bottled. (I've had it while on vacation and thought it was horrible.)

In college, we always referred to them as "black labs" and bought them by the "kennel"

Haha yeah, I'm not looking for piss beers. :p

But almost every beer seems overpriced here. Molson over here would cost about $16 a 12 pack and Corona would run me $18 a 12 pack with tax!!! Not that I'd buy Corona anyways.

Holy ball sack. I'd be getting drunk nonstop if beer was that cheap here in CA.
$5.49 is "cheap" and if you want something good like Killian's it's about $7.49 ~ $8.99 for a sixer.

I'm an advocate of Michael Shea's if you like Irish Beer. It's $6/6 at a bottle shop or $15/case if you go to the distributer, least around here.

these are Texas prices... i wasnt old enough to buy beer when i lived in CA

6.99 here gets Belhaven, Franziskaner, Murphys, Sierra Nevada, Sam Smith, etc..basically anything besides the Belgian shtit that cost as much more than wine
as far as cheap goes, hell ive seen 1.99--and, once, .99--for ridiculously bad beers like schaefer and steel reserve from ghetto ghetto stores

There's some good trader joe's beer, I forget the names but I'll be sure to take note and let you know. Unless someone here beats me to it!

When you're poor the definition of "good stuff" adjusts accordingly.:)

You can always try Coors(light or not), Bud(light), MGD(personally don't like it), Michelob(pretty good I think). They are mid priced beers to me. Anything more than like $8/12 is expensive. Then you have the cheapies, old mil, mil's best, bush light, pabst, schlitz, you get the idea.
