Usually I like alternative or punk rock. Bands like the offspring, bad religion, flogging molly, foo fighters, rise against, A.F.I(only their old stuff) are among some of my favorites.

I'm not too familiar, so I can only offer what I've heard on the radio. Two names that come to mind are Rise Against and Shinedown.

Scratch that, reading fail on my part, see you already mentioned Rise Against. Still suggest Shinedown. Maybe Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.
 
Mike Posner. He has that Cooler than Me song on the radio but the rest of his stuff is much better.
 
Boy Like Girls (the first album). I wouldn't say it's good music, but it's certainly very catchy.
 
The Mars Volta will melt your brain.

Their first album Deloused in the Comatorium was produced by Rick Rubin and Flea played bass on the record. It's awesome.
