Howdy,

We have a cabin in northern Wisconsin that we want to add some music to. I'm looking for a Bluetooth speaker(s) that we can use in two areas.

1) We would put it on the deck to have music while sitting outside and hanging out. This I can do with pretty much any BT speaker.
2) We would take it down to the beach so that while the adults are hanging on the shore, and the kids are playing in the water, we can have some music to keep everyone entertained. This is not a public beach, just our dock with a sand area and a place to swim and such.

Item 2 is where I'm worried that a regular portable BT speaker just might not be strong enough.

I looked around on Amazon and found two things that looks promising:
Sylvania SP328-Black Portable Bluetooth Speaker
https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00YO2T6ZA
and
Cambridge SoundWorks OontZ Angle 3
https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B010OYASRG

I was leaning towards the second one since is has amazing reviews until I realized just how tiny it is. So then I started looking at the first one more. But, I figured I'd see if anyone here know of any other items I should look at. I'd love to stay around the $30 mark but would go up a little higher if I absolutely had to.

If anyone has used either of these items, or has something else I should look at, please let me know.

Thanks.

The Syvania sure is alot of plastic for how much it cost... it seems to be quite big for its sound footprint and doesn't seem to do anything special for low frequency like bass ports. Unfortunately I could not find a single review on youtube with someone that was using ANY kind of a good microphone. The a/v crowd are totally ignoring it so maybe for good reason.

The OontZ angle is a PERSONAL speaker.. one person..one room. Outside you will find it quickly loses volume as you get farther away from it. The JBL Flip is the same way. Speakers these small need to be kept somewhat close.

I like the JBLs... the side radiators offer up some great bass response and you can get them most anywhere. Anything above the flip should be good for a crowd. The flip is kind of a one man one room deal but you have a medium and big daddy model that don't disappoint. (Well ok..the $299 big daddy is way overpriced imo, but it IS good loud sound in a fairly tight package).

I ended up ordering the SB525. Saw some reviews that it puts out good volume and I think it will be fine for what I want to use it for. I guess we'll see when it gets here. :)

So how is the bt speaker working out for you? I'm building a bt party speaker but want something portable too. So I'm thinking of either making my own or just buying one at these prices.

The SB525 sounds really good. Lots of bass and it gets really loud. I'll take it down to the lake later today to see how it is in open spaces.

With bluetooth speakers you get what you pay for. You aren't going to find a good quality, loud speaker for cheap.

But "good quality" is also subjective.

Have you considered some good outdoor wired speakers? I use a couple sets of them for my back area and it's a lot nicer than bluetooths with power cords or batteries in my opinion.
I used direct burial 10 awg cables to them and buried them so they cannot be seen.
