Recommend me some good psychological horror movies..

Just saw orphan and loved it. Anyone can recommend me more movie of this genre?
They should have an intelligent story line instead of just stupid gore and blood everywhere(i'm not scared of blood but the story should have a thought-provoking side to it.)

Jacob's Ladder, while not strictly horror, is deeply disturbing

The (original) Japanese version of The Ring is... Yeah - Just watch it.

that movie is great, but i simply can't watch the parts where she
busts up his legs to keep him from moving out of the bed. makes me want to puke.

No doubt, I would have to FF through that part myself. In my older age my tolerance for that kind of violence is quite low. Ever since the 'Twisty' cage in Saw III, I had to stop watching those kinds of movies.

thanks for the replies guys. There's The Omen available for me to borrow. Is it good or a waste of time?

The book was good. I saw the movie, but don't remember it well.

Edit:
Speaking of books, The Brownstone is one of the most memorable from my childhood. I was a huge horror fan, and this one stood out. Dunno how it stands up over time, but if you're interested in reading, it's worth a shot.

The Conjuring probably falls into the genre. Pretty decent movie, though I really don't like that style of movie.

If you don't mind anime, the series Another is well written, and much of the horror comes from the effects of a curse on the minds of its victims.
