You realize that these are 2 very different beers, right? Hoppy bitterness and sweet caramel malt goodness, right?

If you can find it in your area, the Dry Stout and Lunar Ale from Boulevard Brewing are excellent. The 1554 Ale from New Belgium is also great.

If you really want to turn your world upside down grab a tripel or quad malt from belgium in a big ass bottle with a cork on it.

For $8 a 12 pack of bottles name me a smoother, better tasting beer than Honey Brown that you can routinely grab a non-specialty beer store.

i like honey brown Porter, but it's seasonal.

it was the BEST porter i've ever tasted. and it was like 1/2 the price of guiniess

anyone know when it's going to come out again?

Well, I never really recommended anything, did I?

To the OP, what kind of beer do you drink now?

Like I stated before, I like full bodied beer, but when it comes to bitterness I'm a full blown wuss. If it says IPA, or even Pale Ale, Stout, Double Bock, or any such designation that indicates it might be bitter, I might try it with trepidation, but I probably won't like it.

Things that do like, Pete's Wicked Ale, Goose Island Honker's Ale (or their Honey Nut), most Ambers, and the Belgian Wheats. I generally like most of the Oktoberfest beers too. I'm not too big on the fruit flavored beers, but I like the pumpkin ales.

I avoid Honey Brown now, it's the only beer to ever actually make me throw up. I do enjoy a Leinenkugel's Honey Weiss now and again though.

Samuel Smith's Tadcaster Porter. Almost as good as mine. :)

For a good light beer go with Lowenbrau, for a darker beer, try out Drake's, for a cream ale try Boddingtons or Wexfords, btw I love cream ales...

Hard to beat Trappist ales. Also can't go wrong with the various Abbey ales.

Another recommendation for Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout. It's quite bitter but very flavorful.

Taj Mahal is a good Indian beer, but I'll bet that your store doesn't have THAT one! :)

I only like Guinness from the tap, so I can't recommend getting a six pack of that.

I often say "there's a sandwich in every bottle" about beer in general, but you have a point.
