Someone mentioned FF3 earlier. What does that equate to if you were a kid in the US playing the FF games growing up? FF2? If so, I'm going to buy a DS. :)

They didn't release FF3(j) when you were a kid. FF2 (FF5j), and FF3 (FF6j) is already out for GBA

Yeah, this is the first time FF3 has ever been released in the US. I think it's worth playing so far. And as you said, FFIV (US FFII) and FFVI (US FFVI) are out on the GBA, as well as FFV and FFI&II. So if you get a DS, you'll have access to every roman numeral Final Fantasy up until they moved to Playstation. FFI&II have been upgraded with SNES-style graphics, and of course FFIII has the 3D graphics that you'd see on the Playstation iterations.

There was also FF Mystic Quest that came out on the SNES that I don't believe has been released for any other system, and while that was less of a departure from the standard Final Fantasy formula than some of the more recent spin-off games, it really wasn't a "true" Final Fantasy game - it was intended to get people into RPGs with a simpler game.

FIFA 07 is what i play 95% of the time I'm using my DS. New Super Mario Bros. and FFIII are fun too though.

New Super Mario Bros is a MUST.
Advance wars
Mario Kart
Resident Evil
Zelda A link to the pas - GBA

Those are around the top for me, other good ones are;

Yoshi's Island DS
Super Mario 64
MegaMan ZX
Kirby Squeak Squad
Brain Age

btw, why are you going with the M3 simply over the M3 perfect lite? They are pretty much the same, except the perfect lite goes in slot-2. THe benifit to this is that it lets you copy a retail DS game in slot-1 to your micro SD card in slot-2.

Once you get your M3 card, you can put classic GB and NES games.

I went to EB Games and Gamestop. I picked up Sonic Rush, New Super Mario Brothers, Advance wars - dual strike, Tony Hawk's American Sk8land, and Texas hold'em poker. All were used except Sonic. It was buy two used and get one used free so i got the Texas Hold'em free.

I'm overall satisfied with my selection, thanks for the tips guys!

P.S. I also purchased some screen protectors, it came with one protector for each screen plus a stylus for $5.00. While attempting to install the lower screen protector i accidentally dropped it on my shirt, sticky side down and it picked up some lint so it was useless.

Anyone have a recommendation on where i could get a few sets of screen protectors for a decent price online?

I recall http://www.shieldzone.com/ being good. But, I ended up not using the shields I bought for my DS. I'm not very good at applying them and ended up tearing them off after I couldn't eliminate all the bubbles.

This thread makes me want a DS Lite... are they still tough to find? I wonder if anyone would trade one for a PSP w/ 1.5 firmware? :)

If you are into graphic novels, you have to get Hotel Dusk. I was addicted to the game till I finished it.

Mario Kart and Tetris are both great because of the ability to play 4 people over the internet.

They had plenty DS's in a few colors everywhere i went. I bought mine from Walmart and they had about 3 or 4 of each color.

Gamestop and EBgames both had new and used ones for sell.

I'm sure Gamestop/EBgames would give you about $20 for your PSP since all they wanted to give me for my 4 day old DS games was $6.50 total. Granted, it was Metroid Prime Pinball and Retro Atari Classics but i still think $6.50/each would've been a lot fairer since they still sell for $19.99 Metroid and $17.99 for Atari (i paid $19.99 at WM).

The best part is that they offered more for the worthless Atari classics than they did Metroid! $2.50 for Metroid and $4.00 for Atari! What a joke!

Now i just need to do some research on these M3 contraptions! ;)

if you're definately getting an m3 simply why even bother with buying any game? is it cause you want to have a new game to play while waiting the two weeks for the M3 to ship?
