Someone mentioned FF3 earlier. What does that equate to if you were a kid in the US playing the FF games growing up? FF2? If so, I'm going to buy a DS.![]()
They didn't release FF3(j) when you were a kid. FF2 (FF5j), and FF3 (FF6j) is already out for GBA
Yeah, this is the first time FF3 has ever been released in the US. I think it's worth playing so far. And as you said, FFIV (US FFII) and FFVI (US FFVI) are out on the GBA, as well as FFV and FFI&II. So if you get a DS, you'll have access to every roman numeral Final Fantasy up until they moved to Playstation. FFI&II have been upgraded with SNES-style graphics, and of course FFIII has the 3D graphics that you'd see on the Playstation iterations.
There was also FF Mystic Quest that came out on the SNES that I don't believe has been released for any other system, and while that was less of a departure from the standard Final Fantasy formula than some of the more recent spin-off games, it really wasn't a "true" Final Fantasy game - it was intended to get people into RPGs with a simpler game.
