Recommend me some apps for android...

Well I have finally joined the 21st century and got a smart phone - running Android 2.3.4. So ATMDG what apps can you recommend me?

Vcast Song ID
Note Everything
Life Reminders
Thumb Keyboard
Droid Forums
Dolphin Browser Mini
Search Light
Craigslist
The Weather Channel
History Erase

Awesome Drop

Install on your phone.

Go to the website from any computer (labs.dashwire.com), enter 4 digit code seen there on your phone

You can now start dragging and dropping files from the PC and they are copied over to your phone immediately. Useful in situations like when you're on a PC that doesn't have Dropbox, or you're on someone else's machine and don't want to install anything on it, or you don't have your USB cable on you, etc.

Gesture Search (by Google)

Let's you search your phone for contacts, bookmarks, apps, and music by drawing letters and/or numbers. A quick way to find what you need from one location.

Also, get the Amazon App Store asap. One paid app goes free each day, and sometimes there are very good/useful apps that get picked.

The Weather Channel caused huge issues for me last time I had it. To be fair, that was over a year ago on a much older phone, but I have no reason to trust them now.

Dialer One is a nice alternative to the stock dialer. Dolphin Browser HD is a nice browser as well as Opera Mobile. Apps Organizer and Folder Organizer are a little bit nicer alternatives to the standard folders in Android. I use Handcent SMS instead of the stock messaging app. I'm a sports fan and I got a free (normally paid) app from Amazon called SportCaster Pro that is quite nice - gives you scores but also a running Twitter feed relating to whatever game you have pulled up, which to me is much more immersive than just stats. There's a cool app that lets you listen to just about any radio station in the country called TuneIn. I have an alternative alarm clock called Alarm Clock Plus that I like a lot, tons of options like configuring snooze time, gradual volume increase, and reading the time to you. Lastly I use Yelp a fair amount to find good local restaurants.

opera mobile
justreader (google reader, awesome for syncing news for offline reading)
fbreader (ebook reader that supports almost every format)

I don't really run Android... yet ( 😛 ), but I usually nab the free app of the day on Amazon's App Store. There are valid complaints that Amazon's store doesn't update the apps on a timely basis or at all, but heck... free is free. 😛 They usually post them to twitter at about 12AM PST, which is where I grab the link.

Miren Browser
K9 Mail
Green Power
GoSMS
LauncherPro
Quickpic
Business Calendar Free
FTPServer
Google Skymap
SwiftKey X
Sonos Controller (need to buy a piece of their hardware to control)

I'd strongly recommend a notetaking application called Evernote. I find it invaluable for recording and organising various snippets of information. It is also available on nearly every platform around. http://evernote.com/

Pulse (just wanted to repeat this)
Tasker
Pure Calendar Agenda (best widget ever)
Tapatalk (read AT, XDA, and a bunch of other sites really easily)
Catch
Dropbox
