Recommend me a wrist watch that doesn't require battery?

Apparently my "Solar powered" GW-300 G-Shock does require battery as the old battery doesn't hold/recharge anymore, I can either pay $65 for a battery replacement or buy a new G-Shock for $90. This kind of defeat the purpose of a solar power watch now doesn't it?

So I'm looking for something along the line of the G-Shock but doesn't uses battery altogether and never need a battery replacement. Any suggestion?
 
There are very few good watches that are chaep that are winf up!!
Depending on whgat you wish to spend you can get a nice windup watch doe a few hundred dollars!!
 
Downside with mechanical watches though is that you need to keep them maintained for consistent operation over the years. At the very least the lubricants can degrade over time and the metal grinds down. Even if you get a mechanical you may need to spend money on basic maintainance years down the road. Honestly though, what makes the G-Shock so expensive to replace the battery?

better to get a battery atomic watch🙂 always set right with the radio signal.
and yes solar= battery. i think the battery can be found MUCH cheaper online, but u have to do it your self or go to a watch shop.
 
You can't replace it yourself? Buy a Timex Ironman line of watch for $35. Batteries you can do yourself and if you can't be bothered just get another one.
 
Seiko Kinetic, they use a capacitor or rechargeable battery and movement "recharges" it. In the 8 or so years i've owned mine, it still works 100%.

I've always wanted one of these, but I have a hard time spending $200+ on bling 🙁

Seiko kinetic titanium. Not a G-Shock, but G-Shocks are gay.

I've had mine for at least 6 years. Works 100%.

Also nice: no scratches on the face, despite a crazy amount of abuse. Uses a sapphire crystal which can only be scratched by diamond (and a few other rare materials).
 
google "Invicta" there are many automatic Invicta watches that are under $100.I've had two and both are still working fine.I like the diver series.I have an 8926(i think) in stainless that I wear daily.With the coin edge bezel.

I got mine from ebay, jeweler verified as 100% legit for under $100

Mine is pretty beat up since I've welded and fabricated with it on, but it still works 100%. I did upgrade the capacitor per the email I got from seiko service though. I guess some of the earlier ones had a weak "battery" or something. Mine still worked fine but I went ahead and updated it in case.
 
have a Titanium Eco-Drive from 12 years and it still works. I have never replaced the rechargeable battery inside. Cost me 500 back in the days.

Only problem I have is the glass is broken. Freak drop with my wedding ring and it landed on top of the wedding ring. Wonder how much to replace the glass 🙁

That watch survived many drops for so long I guess I forgot it has breakable parts.

I have a Citizen Eco-Drive titanium as well. Going strong for 8 years now without ever replacing the battery. Solar power FTW (at least in my watch). The glass on my has some scratches from one time it got sent across a parking lot. Other than that, it's been great.

that's the second time I've seen you, of recent, mention the Timex Ironman, as if it the only watch good enough to have ever been worn by man.

I have one, and it's actually an excellent sports watch. I use it for PT and whenever I'm out getting dirty.

On a daily basis, I wear a cheap Armitron (cannot afford better) quartz watch, but it has a clean black face and is quite presentable.

I just got a Seiko handed down, it was my grandpa's. When he passed, my dad got his Seiko automatic, and my grandma recently found another Seiko he had but it's also a quartz. However, I like it. I just need to get it fixed up a little. That'll be my dress watch, and keep wearing my Armitron daily.
