I'm in love with the iPhone so I am partial. I'm a Verizon customer caught between Verizon's craptastic selection of phones and the evils of AT&T...

If you need something that can take a serious beating then you are forced to go with the rugged motorola's which lack features.
If you like text, email in your pocket, limited browsing, blackberry.
If you are willing to wait, see if sprint jumps on the Android bandwagon and get a gPhone later.

Just an FYI. I was going to order a Moto Q9c the other day but decided not to since the CSR said the Instinct would be coming out on the 20th of June.
