I'm trying to download some ISO's and my current ISP, Walmart Connect, seems have instituted an autodisconnect feature on all the local numbers. Plus Customer Service is in denial to this and totally out of touch with both the facts of connectivity as well as the English language.

Looking for a cheap ISP that won't disconnect me after a certain period of time of inactivity on port 80

Looks like it is software based are you able to share the internet connection on another machine or have you tried?

I use Intergate.com their mail servers suck. Usenet is sometimes down. It depends on the number you use to dial in. One number gets more activity and will disconnect you if they get busy. The other number will not drop you. To find a real ISP you might try http://www.freedomlist.com/

Good luck.

ev1.net has been great for me when I had dialup - $10 a month, unlimited access, got 6+ hours of uptime without getting kicked off.

Have they got a local access number for 919 area code? Get database errors whenever I try to search
