I work in ISS (Information Systems Support) and provide network as well as desktop support. (not helpdesk, but as in a user is having a problem w/ notes and I go to their desk and fix it)

What's the correct job title for something like that? I was thinking Information Systems Technician...

I try to include something grandiose in all my job titles:

Minister of Information Systems Support.

No wait, then the acronym would be MISS and that's no good.

Paragon of Information Systems Support.

No no....

Grand Wizard - ISS, maybe?

The Right Reverend Notes Support Tech

Fats Domino

Lotus Flower

His Holiness The Dalai Lama of Technology

Supreme Commander of Information Systems?

Yeah there does need to be a standard.

I do just as much desktop support as network... is there a term that encompasses both?

I don't know. You sound like you're in a similar situation as me. I basically do everything and anything computer realated for a smallish firm that is very dependant on their computers and the internet. I flip-flop all the time on the term I use on my resume...

The company I work for isn't tiny at all, but not large either. 350 or so employee's at the main building.

I work under the systems admin, alongside a "network engineer" and "systems support specialist"
