Recommend me a good movie that just came out on DVD

I'd say rent "Babel". That way you can talk or do whatever during the movie and you won't really miss anything.

sure....Babel is damn good, and clearly above the level of this poster to understand. Pretty harsh flick though....

I second "Stranger than Fiction," "The Departed," "Thank You for Smoking"

Who gives a motherfvcking sh1t?

Obviously you cared enough to reply, thus you do. OP was asking for a good new release to watch, I am stating my opinion that The Departed is not all that great.

Disagree.

Have you seen Infernal Affairs? The Departed is a remake of that. I have yet to see a good remake.

Internal Affairs > The Departed.

How can I trust you if you can't even spell the original title correctly?

Lol, my excuse is I never looked too closely to the English title (Chinese dudes don't look at English titles for Chinese movies). It's not even a spelling mistake, I honestly thought it was Internal Affairs which kindda of made sense to me. Internal Affairs as a title suck for that movie.

As to The Departed, well, even in 1080P it sucks...

The departed is definitely better than the original, if you are talking about from the perspective of someone having to choose to see one or the other without having seen either. If you have seen infernal affairs, the departed is still decent, but it feels kind of shallow since a large part of the movie is almost an exact replica. I have no idea how it won a writing oscar since the plot was so similar.

Another vote for Stranger than Fiction. Half Nelson is good too, but not to everyone's taste.

Very good movie. Really liked this one, probably one of the best Bond movies IMO.

Departed gets a  from me. Not that great.

Illusionist is pretty good, not as much depth as The Prestige, but is definitely still worth a watch.

Obviously I cared enough to reply? That doesn't even make sense. I'm just sick of the parrots who have to pop in every time the Departed is mentioned and talk about how Infernal Affairs is better. NOBODY CARES. It's almost as annoying as the tards who have to say that the 300 isn't historically accurate in every 300 thread.

Actually, this is the first time I have ever posted about The Departed and Infernal Affairs. I am not responsible for anyone else's posts. And again, if it is of no importance to you, why does it bother you so much?

Wow, I just finished watching Stranger Than Fiction. I am stunned by the quality of this movie. As stated, Will Ferrel doesnt act as he usually does. Good movie.
