Recommend me a good, inexpensive Verizon phone.

I am eligible to get a discounted phone on May 1st. I currently have an LG VX8300 which I love but it has gotten beat up and shuts off randomly. I am looking for something similar to replace it with.

The replacement phone needs to be inexpensive and must have:
- Good Reception
- Decent Bluetooth quality
- Decent Camera (at least 1MP but higher would be better)
- MicroSD slot
- Good battery life

I'd also prefer a clamshell or maybe one that slides down, but it can't have number buttons exposed. I don't like having to constantly lock and unlock the buttons to prevent accidental dials. I also don't really like the new trend of having flat buttons that was started with the Razr.

I don't need internet connectivity, touch screens or anything fancy.

Suggestions?

Sounds to me like the LG VX-8360 is perfect for you. Clamshell, bluetooth, 1.3MP camera, microSD slot, 1000mAh battery is smartphone territory which means over 5 hours of talking time and almost a *month* of standby time. Bluetooth supports A2DP for stereo headsets and the SD slot can act as mass storage. Buttons are rounded, not flat. QVGA screen is pretty easy on the eyes.

It's also alot like your old one. Differences are that the antenna has been internalized, talking and standby time as doubled, screen has been increased to QVGA resolution, and it can now use real songs for ring tones.

It runs $80 with contract or ~$240 without.

That looks to be EXACTLY what I want. It's not showing up on their website though. How do I get this phone at discount?

Really? If I go to Verizon's website and go over the Phones tab, and hit the bottom option of "View All Cell Phones", then on the left side I hit "LG" as the manufacturer, it shows right up to me. I'd link you if I could, but almost none of the cell phone's web sites allow that.

That figures. Those are only for new customers. The only phones I can choose from to upgrade using my current plan are:

Alright, well of those choices, the Motorola W755 is your next best bet. However you could always kill your contract if the terms are up and resign the contract. Unless it would be advantageous for you to cling to your current one.

That doesn't look bad. It has all most of what I want. I'm not sure about Motorola phones though. I'll check it out in the store to see if I like it.

Only thing that doensn't match what you want is the fact it takes after the RAZR. So welcome to really flat keys.. Like pressing on paper really..
