1500-3000 unless there is some great reason to spend more, no ice maker or water dispenser required. Thanks so much, was looking at the samsung 4 door for about 2500 but i have read to many reviews about needing multiple repairs.

we buy used sub zeros, and get them fixed.

otherwise, whatever is not Samsung and in the scratch and dent / clearance if you don't have an ice maker or water thing, there really is not much to them. I don't think we had more than 2k into any of our sub zeros after they were fixed, and they should last another 20 years.

so i should get something like this?

i dont know where to buy a broken subzero.

hard to get stuff shipped to me, best buy, homedepot wont ship to me.

or any fridge from there.

appliance connection ships to me, looking at the maytag 36" ones for 1400 wonder if its a good choice.

That's all fridge. No freezer. Subs are also made for built in spaces.

I guess my point is, no reason to spend 3 grand on something unless its something special. A 1k fridge will probably last longer than a 3k fridge because has less things to go wrong.

If your space makes sense for a sub zero i would not hesitate to go that way. They usually don't it in a space for a regular home depot fridge, taller because the compressor is on top, counter depth.

i understand its all fridge, i saw one on craigslist also that was 1000$ and had freezer / fridge. the space is not a issue i can fit a 10x10foot fridge ;P the biggest issue is that it is 20 years old already (says 2001 and 2000 for manufacture date) so how long will it last before the repair is needed and getting someone to come repair it or taking it there sounds like a hassle since im 90 miles from a big city.

what was the 1k fridge vs 3k fridge? the bosch are around 3000, the maytag / whirlpool are around 1.5k, i can get 5 year extended warranty for 180$ more and delivery to my front door ;/ i dont care about anything like lcd screens etc, the 2600$ shipped sub-zero that is all fridge looks amazing and could fit so much in there (right now i can only fit 4 gallons of milk in my fridge and its pretty packed with 5 dozen eggs cheese meat lots veggies etc. )

sounds like separates would be the way to go then, if repair could be a problem, go to the big city and find the high end appliance dealers with clearance centers, or call around for a set, watch craigslist and the like for newer ones. our first sub was a 48 in that we got for 400 bucks, spent about 1k on repair. moved and left it built in. we found a 2005 my 42 inch for 1k and have not had to have it repaired. we have another 48 for my wifes brother, i think it was about 700 bucks, and it needs an evaporator, repair will be about 1k.
