Recommend me a cheap - but NICE keyboard

Haha - anyone have experience with the "Happy Hacking" series of keyboards. They are about 60$ so they are pricey, but look nice.
 
to me the most important parts of the computer aren't really in the tower at all. it's what you actually USE: such as monitor/headphones or speakers/keyboard/mouse/mousepad

i'd spend the $ to get a good keyboard. if you dont have $ just get a reg crappy one from goodwill till you do have enough $

one good keyboard: logitech elite
 
I really can't understand why all these 'modding' companies aren't setting out to make nicer keyboards. I mean, there really isn't much variety at all in computer keyboards. I like the 'natural' split-style and they seem to be going out of style. The one I have makes too much noise and feels cheap - but at least it has two USB ports on it. It's a Microsoft natural keyboard pro.. I also had a Microsoft natural keyboard elite - the keys clicked much nicer and quieter - but the mini buttons pissed me off.

I'd gladly pay $100 for a really nice keyboard that will last me a long time. I really don't want to go back to using a straight keyboard, though. I wouldn't mind a keyboard that had smaller strike distance - sort of like a laptop keyboard. I seem to type faster on a laptop keyboard because my fingers don't have to travel as far.

I'd gladly pay $20 for a nice keyboard that I could customize. I mean customize with things like no sleep buttons, etc. Thos piss me off. But paying $100 is just retarded.
 
The lowest of the Microsoft Keyboards works perfectly for me. The Logitecs feel... Mushy? I dont know, its a preference on how you type.

I know what you mean. I use an MS keyboard at home and I was always used to the key action. I needed to change out my keyboard at work and I picked a Logitech keyboard because the price was right and I like their products. At first I did not like the feel of the keyboard at all but I got used to it shortly and rather like it now. Now I'm typing out lengthy personal emails at work without any problems. Uh, never mind.
 
Gotta have a split keyboard, M$ makes a couple in the $20 range. I'm far too clumsy with coffee to spend more than $20 on one, and the cheapest Logitech split I could find is the uber $100 wireless kb/mouse combo 🙁
 
the MS natural ones are great, once you get the hang of them. I quit using mine, b/c i didn't like it for gaming, and I don't write as many papers as I once did.

the natural ones, if thats the one with the split style, are my favorite. i'd rather use that than even a really nice, more expensive wireless one. as he said, once you get the hang of it, it feels much better. I"m a fast typer (like 70+ wpm), and it feels very natural and intuitive for me, which helps me type a bit faster, and more comfortably. I don't have one though, because I'm REALLY cheap about my keyboards. if you want a cheap one, like a $12 one, i think memorex's are okay. if you can spend 20-30 bucks, get the MS one.
