Hi All,

I go to college in Cleveland, OH, and I've been with Verizon for 3 years now, never had a problem. This year I move into a place of my own 2 blocks away from the dorms, and my reception does down the drain. It gets so bad at times that I get analog and roaming at the same time =(

My roommate has Sprint and gets 5 bars in our apartment...Switching providers is out of the question since I'm under contract, and I've been happy with Verizon. So I guess the only other option is to switch to a better phone. I have a Samsung A650, which is pretty old anyways considering how fast new phones come out.

So please recommend me some phones that get great reception. I don't really care about extra things like cameras or mp3 players, I just want a solid phone first and foremost.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks all.

Yeah, my parents have a sprint and love it to death and it works great. Definitely give Sprint a shot.

I don't know if this phone will work with Verizion, but my nephew just got a Strobe through Alltel. He loves it.

Ehh, LG's have pretty bad reception compared to Motorola phones. My RAZR V3c gets full reception wherever I am, unlike my old phone (LG VX6000).

Moto > LG

Verizon is CDMA - no SIM cards.

I like my Nokia 6236i with Verizon. I've never had a reception problem.
