Want to get one for my fiancee's car. She has an iPod shuffle. I want to get her a CD player with the 1/8" minijack input. What would you recommend? Doesn't have to be anything super fancy.

Sounds good, thanks! I'll just be using it with stock speakers.

It was like $100 but I don't see
any AIWA's on bestbuy.com so
not sure if they still carry it.

this is what i have

by the way, if u should decide to order from crutchfield (which is a good idea, since they give u a mounting kit & harness, install instructions, and also free telephone support should u have trouble installing the head unit), i can help u save $20. pm me if interested :)

Most head units with CD changer support can do this. You just get an adaptor that plugs into where the cd changer would go and it has RCA inputs.

ultra ghetto solution would be a tape adapter if you already have a tape deck.

I have one for my old car. iirc, this one only has a radio. oh well (no to fm transmitters).

what kind of CD visors do you guys use? I've been thru a few brands so far and they all kind of stink.

another one that looks good is the Alpine CDE-9845. A little more pricey but I trust the name more. Also, only 16 watts per channel vs. 23 from the Aiwa. Also, the minijack aux input is on the rear, so I guess I'd have to drill or otherwise thread the cable thru. What do you guys think - Alpine or Aiwa?

i like my aiwa. having a front input sure is a helluva a lot easier then whatever extra work might be involved with the alpine. hit up some reviews and see what good/bad things they have to say about each.
