It's been a while since i kept up with the newest technology.


My laptop has a T2300 @ 1.66ghz
FSB 166 x 4 (665 mhz) i guess that is how it works now.

I currently have 2 x 512MB PC2-4300 (266mhz)
DRAM frequency is 266 running asynch. CAS4



I want 2 x 2GB modules.
Can I install faster memory such as PC2-6400. It will work but just run slower? Just seems PC2-6400 memory is cheaper than PC2-4200.


I had been running Vista for a while and now running the Windows 7 RC for one day which seems just a good if not better. I use Autocad, photoshop CS3, MS Office, lots of open tabs in web browser other various stuff. Should see a big difference in performance?
