recommend laptop hard disk

hello everybody,

i wanted to replace my current hard disk in sony vaio fz laptop.its a 200 GB 4200 rpm toshiba disk.its giving me very weird results in hdtune.

i want to know whether its time to change the hard disk.its 2 yrs old laptop of mine.
windows has become slow.and hdtune shows minimum data rate going to 0 and seek time going to 47msec.

how do i attach screenshot file here?

kindly guide me.

i did my search,i feel hitachi latest gen drives are better in terms of speed and reliability.

pls recommend.

If you prefer Hitachi Newegg has several...this one happens to be SATA 3. Hitachi @ Newgg I just replaced my 4200rpm with a WD 5400 and the difference is amazing. You need to identify the interface before ordering...SATA, IDE etc; it will be depend on the age of your laptop.

The way to show an image:
upload the image to Photobucket Photobucket ...then
what you want to do is make the image location available in your message. You do that by clicking the http tab in the messaging job bar and entering the url of the image location. You can cut and paste the link to the image right from the browser. After you enter the hyperlink you will be presented a "Text" box...simply replace "Text" with a descriptive text of the picture and click OK. Preview your message prior to posting to ensure your link works...hope this helps and all the best w/your HDD replacement. :thumbsup:

If you want to see how HUGE a difference the HDD makes, get a vertex/agility SSD. You'll be more than amazed.

Actually its SATA 3Gbps aka SATA II aka Sata 2. Sata 3 is upcoming and 6Gbps.

Fun, eh?

edit: ah. India. Thats a long ways away. :/
