I have it running Win2k (for school)
and Win98 (cuz I figured most old games that I could play on this system wouldn't play on anything past 98)

Do you guys have any ideas, I'm thinkin more strat/thinkin type of games, none of the twitch FPS action games.

Thanx for any ideas you have

*EDIT* I just copied and pasted the specs, I though it had the processor and ram, but I guess not, it's there now

my favorites are

alpha centauri
heroes of might and magic 3 (possibly 4)

you dont seem to have mentioned the cpu & ram, btw.

Thanx guys... it looks AOE2, Hero of might and magic... and I've never heard of pocket tanks, but I'm gonna look for it, and I'll check the other thred.

Would the vid card limit my ability to run MAME and some of the old PlayStation games? or would I need to go back further and play missle command and Joust?

I'm gonna look for Fallout..........
Fallout 1 & 2 are available together in a jewel case edition that goes for as low as $9.99. Can find it just about anywhere.

I've been playing Fallout: Tactics for the last few months. Very addictive. I got it cheap at gogamer.com

Also, if you don't mind some dated graphics, XCOM (~circa 1995) was a great game. I've seen it in bargain bins for $5, or you might find it free on some abandonware sites. I dunno if it works OK with W98 or W2K, but I'm sure others here could tell you.

I've played both of the above for months at a time. Both are TBS....turn based strategy. I'm still trying to find a true XCOM experience. So far, IME, Fallout: Tactics and Jagged Alliance 2 have come the closest, but not quite the same feel.

And, I've already mentioned HOMM 2 and 3....specially if you can find them cheap. HOMM 4 might push your system too much, and they say it isn't that great an improvement anyway (mediocre reviews--my bro says it's dog slow on his cel 550 w/16MB TNT vid card).

Long live StarCraft!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edit: you can actually play Half-Life/CS on that machine and it'll run fine. I used to run CS beta on a P2 333 desktop, 8mb i740, 64mb. Granted, it took like 2-3 minutes to join a game, but once in I was getting 30-40fps at 1024.
