recommend easy to use remote desktop software

my parents are looking at buying some type of software that allows them to access certain programs on their xp desktop from their vista laptop. both are in late 50s, so it has to be very easy to use.

they asked me about it and i dont have a clue whats out there. anyone got any suggestions?

I assume they have XP home and can't use Remote Desktop otherwise I'd recommend that. Other than that I'd go for the free version of RealVNC.

yes i believe its xp home and vista home premium.

they want to use vista on their laptop to access programs on the xp one. hmm according to this the free version doesnt support vista

I used to use RealVNC also and later switched to UltraVNC because it's much faster.

How does UVNC work if you want to run it on a computer with an internet connection that can upload at about 50kB/sec? Assuming the downloading end is much faster.
