So I've never been a big fan of comic books but I read the walking dead comics and enjoyed them.

Not really a fan of super heroes so is there any other comics I might enjoy? I like fantasy and sci-fi and anything in between. Modern day action would be fine as well. Not really a fan of horror.

The Dark Tower series is in comic form.

I haven't read the comics yet, but I thought the books were very good.

I got the comixology app and they had a bunch of free comics (1st issue). I downloaded a bunch and started to read but so far only 1 has sort of caught my interest.

Maybe comics just aren't for me (besides Walking Dead)?

The Avengers is pretty good. Lots of stuff going on, but, you should check it out. You can pick up after the Infinity event (which sucked,...). The latest story line is pretty interesting (alternative evil version of the Avengers).

Superior Spiderman is ending in one more issue. But, pick up the trades,.. it's a GREAT story line of about 30 issues.

Batman is great. Especially the Year Zero story line that has been going on for the past few months. Pick up all the back stories, since #1 - Court of Owls and Death of the Family are both awesome reads.

And, pick up the Simpsons one shots: like Duffman for this April - http://www.bongocomics.com/blog/03/31/2014/april-release-dates

The past issues where;
- Ralph Wiggum
- Milhouse
- Mr Burns
- Lisa Simpson

And, a few others... fun reads.

Conan, in all forms, is really good.

Original TMNT run was pretty good.

There is some pretty good Manga, but the best ones are largely unfinished and worked on sporadically (Berserk and Vagabond...)

I have no interest in superheroes or the simpsons.

the one comic I sort of liked so far was called Peter Panzerfaust.

"A coming of age tale told through the eyes of a group of French orphans during World War 2 who are saved by a brave and daring American boy named Peter. As they travel together, they get tangled up in the French Resistance in Paris, fighting a growing German presence under the leadership of a fanatical SS officer hell bent on wiping them out! Using the Peter Pan story as a touchstone, Peter Panzerfaust reinvents familiar character and plot elements in a unique and creative way."

Interesting that I didn't realize it was based on Peter Pan.

You might be interested in The 'Nam. It follows a private in 'Nam and had a decent run (multiple years).

Sorry - I posted without reading your OP...

I would recommend Saga. Great story, really nice art and wonderful characters.

Also, if you're a Star Wars fan, a lot of those comics are pretty good. Knights of the Old Republic is fairly new and exceptional IMO.

Yes. The recent Star Wars comics like the recent Legacy series have received really good reviews from comic fans.

Also, Warhammer 40k, which mixes fantasy and sci-fi.

Fables is also really highly regarded by comic critics and may fit the fantasy stuff you're into.

.....OP, you should try the titles mentioned in this thread as it's all very good stuff (albeit may not fit your specific requirements)
