Would you also like a Unicorn delivered by Thor while riding pegasus?

Gas milage and fun to drive are usually pretty exclusive of each other.

I know:(

My accord is quite fun to drive and still gets 25mpg even though I thrash it around

Acutally, i pride myself in NOT being dumb.

God knows I think Audis are the official vehicle of the gods, but if just one bolt acts up in that thing, I will go bankrupt:(

Yeah, thats true, If you can't do the work it's not a very good idea for a cheap car.
didn't mean you were dumb, you just didnt respond ;)

I find late 90s Saabs (9-3) with manual trannies to be pretty fun to drive, however, it beter have been serviced properly or you are going to pay a ton for service on those cars :(.

Hell, repairing an Audi would be CHEAP compared to a Saab:(

If you're looking for practical, might want to look at an older Mazda Protege, but I can definitely vouch that the Miata is nice.

Miata will probably be too smal ltough...to carry stuff around in:(

I carry anything that doesn't fit in the trunk in my passenger seat. ;)

Mid nineties Escort. They were actually sound cars. Mid nineties Neon.

He said "Fun to Drive".

I vote for a Miata of course.

Yep, you can get an old miata for 2 grand.

really...

That's quite a bit of mileage...

Mine's pusing like 210k:p

Basically, I love my car, but she might fail me soon:(

Well, it's possible because low weight is a big factor in each

So why buy a car with only 30k less miles less than the one you currently have? ;)

That's the oddest looking engine compartment I've ever seen!

Anyway, I don't know if a 4 cyl accord qualifies as "fun to drive." You could always get an older DSM car (Laser, Talon, Eclipse) for a few grand, put another grand or two into it for mods, etc...and then set aside the remainder if something breaks...

Parts are dirt cheap, and all over junkyards for those.

Or, you could find an LT1/LS1 V8 F-body (93-97 were LT1, 98+ had LS1), or a Miata or MR2, or a Mustang, or a 240SX....

if you want reliable, just get a '96gen or '99gen camry. you can run those things into the ground without fail.

my 88 accord lx-5mt with 180k, still runs ok but i never take it onto the highway cause it shakes too much after 55mph. around town, it's got enough zip to keep up with most cars, surprisingly, and the gearbox is still a joy to handle. i'd be less apt to recommend a newer gen accord with that many miles. i'm looking for a 00-02 accord coupe ex, 5mt myself, under 60k.
