My cat has taken her puking to whole new levels and is now puking on food preparation/eating surfaces such as the dining room table and counters. Freaking gross. I typically use Febrese but I hate the smell (makes a really nasty smell when mixed with cat puke) and I'm not sure how good it's antibacterial properties actually are. It does say it kills 99.9% of bacteria but don't know how accurate those statements on products really are. It's also important to obviously clean so there is zero residu. While it seems to work I don't know if that's the best tool for the job.

Today I ended up using bleach since I needed something really potent given it's the dining room table and I was about to have lunch, but I really don't like using bleach on surfaces such as that as it probably risks ruining it. Probably more so for surfaces like the couch. I swiped with water afterwards and it was ok, but still. Is there a product that would fit this bill and be safe on various surfaces such as wood, cloth, and so on?

Keep in mind it needs to be potent enough for eating surfaces as well to get the solid and bacteria nastiness out.

Water with a bit of soap. Nothing in cat puke's gonna hurt you. Just clean it like you would anything else.

Never had a larger dog puke in the house, have you. I have. It's not pleasant. Worse if they eat something and get the Hershey Squirts.

Dogs clean up their own puke. In addition to cleaning up cat puke.

Hmm do they make wet vac roombas? :p It would be like having a dog that I never have to take for a walk. :p At least it would cover the floors, still need a quick and efficient way for the couch, dining room table, etc.

Come to think of it, would dish soap work ok? If that's made to clean dishes, which you eat on, I imagine it disinfects too? Plus it would not smell bad like the febrese does.

I could use that pet spray for the couch and upholstry surfaces, where I can afford to wait and use dish soap for the dining room table, floors etc. Would that be potent enough to kill off the puke?

On a sorta, but not so related topic, are 1mw lasers dangerous for cat's eyes? Is there a way to make it safer but still powerful enough to activate a CDS cell? I'm thinking of making a contraption I can set on my dining room table with mirrors at each corner. If the beam is broken it makes a very loud sound. I could build a few for the counter tops too. Just don't want it to be dangerous if the beam hits her eyes.

If I can try to find a way to keep her off certain surfaces altogether I can minimize the areas that need to be cleaned.

Bleach, it has blech right in the word. It works great on cat piss as well. Think of the green clouds of chlorine gas filling the house as Lysol on steroids.

My cat's puke doesn't really smell bad. It smells like cat food. Not the best smell in the world, but not the worst either.

Every pet owner should have this...they should just include this when you buy a pet.

That looks interesting... Is it basically a wet vacuum that can pickup puke and crap? I would use this practically daily.

My cat has always had a chronic puke problem. I spent over a grand at the vet to determine that there's apparently nothing wrong.

For the dining room table, get a couple of cheap vinyl tablecloths - one for the table, one for the washing machine. You can wash/bleach them repeatedly, without hurting them or your table.

Just fold it back when you want to use the table, then cover it again when you're done.
