Recommend best 500GB Hard Drive

Currently available is Hitachi Deskstar 7K500 NCQ, SATA II and Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 NCQ.

What do you guys recon is better?

i'd go with a seagate it has 5 year warranty with a hd that big you want ot keep it for awile a good 5 years would be nice even if you get a new primary drive that would be a sweet for storage.

Hitachi's not bad, but seagate is proven. Whichever meets your price. I'm getting a seagate though, personally.

I'd just get a 400GB because those still have better performance, and are FAR cheaper.

I liked to the games benchs immediately, because drive performance doesn't matter for mass media storage, and if you needed higher performance for things like video editing you'd be going RAID.
