Recommend another KVM swith besides the Linksys and the IO Gear?

Linksys Kit $33
IO Gear $35

Both look like good KVM switches, but there's somethings I don't like about both of them. Linksys switches computers through the ctrl key. -Not good if I'm gaming on one. The IO Gear don't have cables you can interchange :\ .

So anyone know any other good budget KVM kits? Like ~$40-$50?

No problems so far ..... has a front mtd. one-touch button to switch pc's.

Hows the video? Do you know how much they are running for? And if there are any kits available?

The video is good, but ......... I don't use a real high resolution, or play games very much, so my experience is limited.
Just one of the sites from PriceWatch: CompuPlus
I noticed in the ad, the D-Link cable kit is apparently required to enable all the features of the DKVM-2 ........ !
I didn't realize this ...... (have just been using the manual button) ...... and I'm using generic cables from the local pc outlet.
Perhaps I should purchase a cable kit and experiment some?

Belkin makes very good KVM's. The higher end ones degrade video quality very little up to 1600x1200 in my experiences.

Anybody use one of these with a wireless keyboard and mouse? I only want to switch between 2 machines, and my monitor has 2 inputs, so all I really need is a dual keyboard and mouse; but I use a logitech iTouch wireless (and thinking about the logitech bluetooth soon).

I've used Avocent's Switchview (for work/gaming) and it was decent, although you have to tweak the refresh rates for the keyboard/mouse to avoid problems in some games...

we recently got a Belkin one here, that supports usb and audio too, and its been a good work performer so far (sorry guys, no gaming on those boxes 🙂 )

Wireless shouldn't be a big problem, but the refresh/poll rate of the mouse can be. Belkin's new KVMs, and Avocent's specify high refresh/poll settings for optical mice. Some cheapo ones just trim it to the old PS/2 refresh, which kills the precision of the newer mouses.

You don't need anything special like DVI connectors do you?

I have the Linksys and it's not too bad, I like my friend's Belkin Omniview KVM better though.

He has had both the 2 port and the 4 port models and they are very nice, but not the cheapest you will find.

I have a TrippLite KVM (8 port) that also uses the CTRL key to start the OSD (on screen display) to swith between systems. But, if I want to, I can swith to another key to start the OSD. If that's what you don't like about the Linksys, maybe you can change the OSD key also. Can anyone who owns a Linksys KVM check this out?

I heard you can't assign the switch key in the Linksys, so you're stuck with ctrl.
