It's not too difficult now. They have a kit that replaces that whole panel, but the kit isn't too great. You lose climate functions and it doesn't look as visually appealing. They also have a kit that goes in the pocket below the factory unit. I've seen some people custom retrofit the stock face plate with a new headunit, but that takes alot of work.

If you're just after hardwiring an iPod, Crutchfield sells a thing that connects to the back of the stock unit. There is also one from Dice, Dension, and a few others.

FM iPod linkups suck from my experience with them. I've tried 3 or 4 different ones and they all suck.

I found one of the Monster ones for $0.99 plus shipping on fleaBay... I'll keep it in my watched items for now but I am bound to experience the suck of iPod FM transmitting soon :p

monster icarplay. probably one of the better ones imo. we have the analog tuner - only select 8 preset stations. the newer one has digital tuning and can select most, if not all the FM stations.
