Can someone recommend a decent wireless router (plus switch) that has a small footprint ... AND ... has a small AC adapter ?

I need to carry this in my laptop bag when I travel.

Reason - most offices I visit lack ease of connectivity .. this would help.

I like Apple's Airport Express: (student discount available, I believe)

http://www.apple.com/airportexpress/

Converts an Ethernet connection into an 802.11n WAP for up to 10 users, plus lets you plug in speakers (analog or digital, stereo or 5.1) plus a USB printer. Very compact and very easy to setup.

No switch for wired connectivity, as OP requested.

Ahh good catch. That's a nice feature on the Linksys!

I wouldn't be going around and plugging that into networks you don't own. You can cause havoc and pure meltdowns. Make sure you have permission first.

exactly what I was going to say... you're planning on pluggin in a wireless router/switch to a network that isn't yours? I'd kick you out of our office in seconds. Even if you did ask the answer would be "no.... here's a wall jack"

Edit: oh and WRONG FORUM! :)

I fail to see why a wireless router plus switch would be needed for a single laptop. IMHO, just a standard Wireless Access Point would do the job. However, if you have access to a wired connection for a wireless access point, it seems to me you could plug the laptop in there just as well.

Edit: Oh, and the networking forum is that way -->
