Man, that's only a bill, if that's too much, what is your budget?

$50 like I said in my op. But if I can find some of those Skagens this weekend and really like the way it looks on me I might just have to splurge a bit. This is just about my first watch, so bear with me for my naiveté.

That's cool, sorry I must have been post whoring the thread too hard to see. :Q

Fossil makes a lot of watches in the $50 range. I think Guess does also. They're not bad for this price range.

agreed. I think fossil makes decent watches that look good and also do what theyre sppose to (tell time).

What's the brand name of that/where do they sell it?
vostok. should be able to find them on ebay. its a 31 jewel movement selfwinding, i think its pretty much a rolex copy.

should be able to find them for $30 or less.

they make some expensive titanium ones too.. but im poor. maybe ill buy one when im out of school and working again. lol
It's a Vostok, Russian.

I wear one too and I like it a lot. It's definitely a durable watch and it keeps time nicely. I'm 6'0" and 145 pounds so I don't exactly have thick wrists either and my Vostok suits me just fine. A couple of pictures of my Vostok.

Is Skagens a good brand, damnit!! I may just have to go over budget :|

What department stores carry Skagens? I want to try a few on before I buy.

wow that's quite a bit over budget

yeah.... well... umm I said around $50, and $140 is around 50.... just WAY around. But I probably won't get it because of the costs. But I will be traveling quite a bit soon and the extra time faces would have been nice. :brokenheart:

Yeah, you'll notice that the face on mine doesn't have any Soviet markings though, which is why I chose the design of mine.

Have to remember that many of the Vostok watches that are sold anymore are sold to tourists who want a distinctly "Russian" souvenier, which goes a long way to explaining their continuance of the use of Soviet symbols on many of their designs.

That said, the watches are cheap, can be found with non-political designs on the face, and have a reputation for being very sturdy and reliable. From a functional standpoint they are hard to beat, especially given the price.

Strange. On my monitor, your wrist looks just like mine, plus we have the same keyboard, and they are apparently lined up exactly the same way.

It's where women go to buy many useless things. Thinking they are saving money when they are actually spending more because they are buying more. And men get to hold the bags :(

I guess so. It's more or less a surplus store that buys up the stuff department stores don't sell right away. Then they resell it at a discount. Like a whole store on SALE, lady Nirvana I suppose.

I had a Skagen that was nothing but trouble. Had to get it fixed three times before it dies at 2yrs old. For $50 get yourself a decent Timex.

If you're pale don't buy a black watch (and don't wear black) it'll make you look even more pale.

Personally I like Storm watches. I have the Expo, but that's because I like to keep it simplistic.
