recommend a SSD for Full Drive encryption

Hey guys,
Looking for recommendation for a SSD to be used with PGP encryption software on windows 7 pro. I know some drive have hardware support for HW encryption, but i not sure if PGP actually can leverage than for faster transfer speed.
Is there any drive (or a particular feature in a drive) i should be looking at for my use case ? I know 840 pro from samy was the go-to for encryption support a while ago, is it still the case ?

I'm not sure that software based encryption would be faster then encryption at the hardware or firmware level.

Bitlocker can use the hardware encryption. Just make sure the drive supports the latest TCG Opal standard.

Crucial MX100 has best support and the Samsung Evo also has support.

TCG Opal alone would not suffice for Microsoft eDrive. You will need an SSD which complies to the IEEE-1667 standard. Also I'm not sure (but I think not) if Windows 7 / 2008 got any update to support eDrive.

If you insist on Windows 7, pretty much any latest Intel SSD (including consumer models) has AES 256 encryption capabilities at the controller level. You just need to ensure that your BIOS has options for strong disk drive passwords. The disk drive password is used to encrypt the encryption keys.
