Recommend a PSU

Powering an ASUS: M3A32-MVP Deluxe & HD 3870 X2 1GB

I'm thinking at least 700W something should have enough headroom to power this machine, with all proper power connectors & such.

I've been out of the loop so long now, that am not sure what am looking at or for.

Thanks.

I would go with a 650w PSU.

Something made from Seasonic, Corsair, or Antec would be good.

Also what kind of case do you have? Do you have space behind the motherboard to hide cables? This would probably affect your decision whether you want to buy something that's modular or not.

Can you sell the 3870X2 and buy a lower power video card? 3870X2 consumes around 200W of power and performs like a 4850/4870. 7750 is equal to 4870, but consumes only 40 watts - it's a single slot card that doesn't even need PCIe connectors! (Though cards with dual slot coolers have also been released)

You would be fine with a lower power PSU if you upgraded the GPU.
