My desktop died a couple of weeks ago. At first, I thought it was because of the motherboard, as I turned it on, the fans were still running and the DVD Rom was still working.
After wasting $100 getting a new motherboard on craigslist, I found out the PS was the problem.

Please recommend me a solid PS but not too expensive. It will power a X6 1050T and 890GXM-G65.
I don't game at all, just browsing, vmware, databases, a couple of harddisks.

I would like it modular but it's not a must.

Corsair, Seasonic, or Antec...in the 400 watt range would serve you very well. No more required...

I dunno...FSP isn't BAD, but they're just not GOOD. IMO, the money would be better spent on one of the Seasonic-based PSU's instead.

I'm using FSP and they have been good so far. They do have a number of their PSU rebranded as well so I don't think that they are bad at all. But if money is no matter, I would definitely want a Seasonic PSU. :)

Back when PSUs used to be in the stone ages, FSP was known to be one of the best. Now, they're pretty-much just mediocre. They're certainly not bad. But you can do better.
